New Year, New You? 2026 daily devotinal ideas.

Don’t Forget the Most Important Resolution:

Time with God

Lose weight.
Work out.
Work less.
Drink less.

Sound familiar?
Every year, we line up the same old goals like little soldiers.
And by February? They’ve already gone AWOL.

We chase self-improvement and forget soul-improvement.

Let’s fix that.

The most important resolution we keep forgetting? Giving more of our time to GOD.

More prayer.
More praise.
More reading His Word.
More of HIM in our every single day

What I Did Last Year

Last year, I committed to finally finishing the Chronological Bible on audio through the Bible App.
✅ DONE.

Was it my favorite way to go through Scripture? Honestly… not really.
I didn’t get to the New Testament until the end of the year and I missed it like crazy.

But even so, I’m so glad I did it.
It stretched me. It grounded me.
Because God’s Word never returns void. (Isaiah 55:11 look it up 😉)

So What’s the Plan This Year?

I’ve read the Bible cover-to-cover several times.
But this year? I want to go deeper, not just farther.

I’m focusing on memorizing Scripture.

Years ago, I learned a method from one of my favorite pastors John MacArthur, who went home to be with the Lord this past year.

📚 MacArthur’s 30-Day Scripture Memory Reading Plan:

  • Pick a short book of the Bible (like Ephesians).

  • Read chapters 1–3 every day for 30 days.

  • Then read chapters 4–6 every day for the next 30 days.

  • That’s it! No apps. No pressure. Just daily repetition.

  • By the end, those verses will live in your bones.

You won’t just know the Bible you’ll own it.

Don't Let Another Year Pass You By

Don’t blink and miss another year of spiritual drift.
This is your time to lean in — not level out.

Let’s give God our first minutes, not our leftover ones.

Let’s trade half-hearted habits for whole-hearted worship.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things will be added to you.
"
— Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
